We are an incorporated non-profit, recreational dive club based in Auckland. The club was founded in 2004 by a group of friends, and it was set up as a means for people to get together to do they love best – diving!
After more than 20 years, the club now has about fifty active members from all backgrounds, nationalities and ages.
An important aspect to the club is the social side, as there’s normally a BBQ or quiz night going on somewhere! With regular planned trips – including both New Zealand-based sites and overseas locations, there’s never a shortage of things happening at BBS!
You don’t have to be a pro – just a keen diver.
Joining the club is very accessible and gives you access to numerous benefits that will make your membership a great investment!

By being a club member, you get club deals that you can’t get anywhere else. For example, for a 3 day dive trip to Northland dive, the savings you make exceed your initial club membership.
As we have our own privately run club boat, club members have exclusive access to using the club boat for dive trips for club members. This means that you get to go and explore the underwater world by using our facilities. Club boat trips are $50 per diver per day and this covers our maintenance costs for running the club boat.
Dive Doctor in Sylvia Park offers member-only discounts on all SSI training courses, as well as really sharp pricing on gear.
If you are new to diving, come and meet us and find a new dive buddy. We have lots of members who are diving regularly around New Zealand and abroad. Experience amongst our dive club varies and we are sure that you’ll find someone who you will click with to go exploring.
As a club we get access to some great boats and awesome destinations. These include our annual Whai trip (if you know, you know) and also exclusive trips to the Aldermans on boat based in Tairua. You want have access to these trips anywhere else.
We have regular club meetings at different venues in the Botany area. These may include interesting guest speakers or a bring-and-share for your club photos or dive adventure stories. As already mentioned above, the social aspect of the club is very important to us and there is often something always going on!
